Okay folks?

In case you were wondering, the title of this blog is multiplicitous. To garner my students' attention in the classroom, I often say, "Okay, folks!" The students find it amusing because not many people say "folks" these days. I love the term because it's old fashioned and endearing.

Additionally, I think that people who chose to go into the field of education are pretty okay folks. In fact, they're the best kind of folks and they should be treated as such.

Finally, as an English teacher through and through, I love that the meaning of these two words can change by simply adding a tiny little comma.
